Israeli officer visits UK on false name

An Israeli regime's authority has revealed that he had visited the UK on a false name and a fake passport to escape possible arrest in London.
Avi Benayahu, Israeli army's spokesman, confirmed in an interview with Defense News that he had visited London on a false name to avoid being arrested on charges of war crimes.Benayahu revealed that his fear of being targeted by anti-Israel activists prompted him to travel to London last year in disguise.
“In my last visit to London, I had to assume a false name because well-funded anti-Israel activists are exploiting universal jurisdiction powers to wage law fare against us”, said Banyahu.
More than a year after the then Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni cancelled a London speech for fear of arrest under Britain's universal jurisdiction law, Avi Benayahu said he found it necessary to visit Britain under “a borrowed identity” and accompanied by security guards.
He said he was told “that the moment they spotted me at the hotel, thanks to social networks, there would be a demonstration in front of the hotel in an hour.”
Britain adheres to the principle of universal jurisdiction, which allows its judges to issue arrest warrants against anyone suspected of war crimes anywhere in the world.
Pro-Palestinian activists have threatened Israeli authorities with arrest on charges of war crimes against Palestinians, causing several officials to cancel plans to visit Britain.
